not Cooking With Betsy

When NYCToddler (now Texteen) was about two, he was reading a story book with Grandma and they ran across the scene of a family having a picnic. Grandma pointed to the illustration and asked him if he knew what they were doing, what they were eating. My very precocious son carefully considered the scene and answered “take-out”. I tried to melt into the furniture and pretended I had no idea whatsoever where he’d learned such a word or concept.
Which brings us to this evening’s question. What do you prefer, pizza or Chinese? Do you often get food delivered? Do you use real plates? Paper plates? Eat from the carton? Be honest, or I’ll ask your grandchildren!

These are tomatoes he’s eating. Really.

Hi, betsy. Hope the blogging is redirecting attention from the pain.
Pizza, of course, is the perfect food. Representatives of all food groups in one slice.
I learned to eat Chineese at an advanced age. The dish that did it was Almond Chicken (chicken, almonds and a delicious sauce) and then on a trip to Canada I added Sweet and Sour Shrimp (made with pickels and pineapple). The restaurant at which I learned to eat Chineese has now closed and I haven’t found anything to match. Of course, now rice is not in favor for my diet because of the impact on glucose levels.
Must admit that while I often put food on plates, I sometimes just eat out of the carton.
It is storming in Kansas City. Wind, rain and hail. I need to slip out during this lull and purchase the groceries for tomorrow’s food kitchen. I can’t believe it has been an month already. Will check up with you after I chop the 10 pounds of onions
Howdy Sharonlee. Do you ever order extra when you’re in restaurants to have some to eat the next day?
My take out preferences change depending on what city I am in.
In the northeast, it would be pizza or subs.
Our favorite take out in this little Texas town? Barbecue!
Hey Gnome!
Hi Betsy! We have Granddaughter #1 with us this weekend. She is standing here right now trying to figure out which is her favorite emoticon.
Excellent! (Is this the one I met at your birthday party last year who likes to match pink with red with all sorts of other colors?)
Gnome, show her the big ones at the bottom.
I believe you have met her. This is not the fashionista, though, that would be granddaughter #2.

Oops. Attention span just shifted. She’s off with grandpa.
Is this one an older sister?
After we look at these, we are going to move onto computer games. See you in a bit
@ Texas Betsy:
Yes
