Will the real Linda Brava please stand up.

Linda Brava

Linda Brava
Linda Brava (born Linda Lampenius February 26, 1970, in Helsinki, Finland)[1] is a Finnish classical violinist and recording artist.
Around the same time, she was performing as a soloist of the Helsinki Strings, playing in concerts in London, New York, Tokyo and others. Brava’s first solo appearance with a professional orchestra took place at the age of 11, when she performed with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. After years of studying at the Sibelius Academy and playing the 1st violin in the Finnish National Opera Orchestra, she started a full-time career as a soloist in 1996.
Brava was the spokesperson and model of the Björn Borg fashion label in the Nordic countries from 1996 to 1999. She appeared in print ads and on catwalks playing music from her pop album. She also promoted the brand in its London store together with Björn Borg himself.[1][86][87]
Maurice Lacroix engaged Brava to promote its then new ladies range of Calypso watches in the UK in 2000. Brava appeared in print ads and performed at Lacroix events.
Brava represented the Swedish People’s Party and was elected to the Helsinki City Council for a four-year term in 1996.[98] At the time, she also served as a board member of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra.[99] In 1997, Brava was chosen to be “Finland’s Tourist Envoy in Sweden”
Brava has had her own cider, Linda Cider, which sold millions of litres in the Nordic countries between 1997 and 2000. To support the cider sales, she also had her own calendar in Finland for year 1998.
Brava’s autobiography, Linda, was published by WSOY in Finland in 2003. Some diary entries and a short story of hers have also been published in Finnish newspapers.
Brava has driven Sports 2000 series cars and worked as a co-driver in rally in Finland, in addition to having her own go-cart team.
Brava danced classical ballet for a while as a child, and learned ballroom dances when participating in TV4’s Let’s Dance (the Swedish version of Dancing with the Stars) in 2008.
Brava has gone in for alpine skiing (naming Madonna di Campiglio, Courchevel and Åre as her favorite skiing resorts),[106] boxing, scuba-diving and archery.
Classical violinist, but can play violin in many varieties of music, a model, an actor, a spokeswoman, a magazine and tabloid personality, a wife, and a mother.
Seems to me she has a do-it-all attitude! BRAVA!!!!
I think I like this piece best, but I also am very fond of harp music!

You did a great job on this Pellora. I do now feel totally inadequate!
(And I am pretty multi-talented myself)
@ gnome de plume:
We each have our own talents… but Linda is very talented – prodigy was a word used to describe her. Plus she has a wonderful first name too!
She appeared in one episode of Baywatch too – only one, and said no to some other T&A offers from teevee. She has done more acting in Finland though. And some other promotion stuff. She has a nice woman’s husky voice – not a high whiny airhead one. Thankfully!
Seems a shame that such a talented and accomplished woman still felt the need to serve the girls up on a platter in Playboy magazine
Texteen & I off to the nature trail. Will take pix.
Just got in from the store. Had to make a coke and wine run. Stopped by my shop on the way back to see how the day had gone. The traffic downtown was horrendous, which means lots of tourists, which might mean good sales. And it did!
@ madmommy:
I think you mean served up on a violin, but I thought the exact same thing. If you’re that incredibly talented, why would you want to be objectified like that?
Although…I’ve always said that if I had a body like that, I would walk around naked all the time.
@ Lea:
Maybe the objectifying is a whole-woman thing in other cultures?
@ madmommy:
What’s happening to ‘Bama?
@ gnome de plume:
Never Mind. They just went ahead.
@ Lea:
Heh, indeed!
@ gnome de plume:
I dunno, flashing the ladyparts for the amusements of teh mens is pretty much the opposite of empowering, no matter what Christine Heffner says. No one’s ever seen her bits and pieces spread out in the centerfold, but she’s making a lot of money getting other women to do it.
@ madmommy:
It ain’t pretty, but I’ll take an ugly win over a close loss any day.
What’s happening to ‘Bama?
They’re winning!
She’s one of a kind! The most amazing thing is that she’s the sweetest human being you’ll ever meet! I’ve met her few times, and she’s always so happy, and kind, and polite, and funny! She laughs A LOT! Her new website on http://www.lindalampenius.com/ MySpace profile with many pictures on http://www.myspace.com/lindalampeniusviolin
BUT it hasn’t been that easy for her, either!
She’s had some severe issues in her life over the years. She had an extremely low self-esteem despite all the success, and she’s somewhat a perfectionist. Nothing was ever good enough, and she was more and less anorexic and bulimic for almost two decades. She was also taken over by an American manager and lost 500,000€ or so altogether (legal fees etc).
Few years ago she sought professional help and wrote about her personal struggles in her autobiography published in Finland in 2003. She was finally able to appreciate herself more and all the things she had achieved. In 2006, she met a man, they got married and had a daughter together. Nowadays, she seems to be very much balanced.
And she’s one of the JUDGES of Finland’s “X Factor”! The filming has just started with auditions around the country.
Welcome Markus.
