OMG She’s A Columnist?!?!?
Posted by larue in Current Events, Humor, News, Politics, Relaxed Politics, Right Wing Idiots, US NewsThere’s just no WAY this is Flailin Palin’s work. The woman can’t put two WORDS together much less sentences and then thoughts.
Now, I’m not conversant on the cap and trade policy deal, but I’d sure like to know the science (the lack of it) behind her comments regarding poor people paying a LOT more for electricity, lost jobs, and all the other claptrap she spouts.
Did Obama really SAY what she ascribes to him? Or was it taken out of context by her (again)?
I’m really, really surprised and apalled that even WAPO would let her have a column, even once! But it’s not like live TV, I guess.
On TV, The Quittah From Wasilla would fail in an epic manner, and quickly, as evidenced by her past appearances ala Couric, et al. So I just don’t see the visual medium giving her a place to pundit upon . . . she’d embarrass the media outlet so badly they’d lose sponsor money.
In the print medium however, a column can be ghost writ, edited, boiled out and down, and made to look good (not that this article looks good).
This piece sucks journalistically wise (blowjob had to say it bless Marcy Wheeler) in so many ways it hurts. Yeah, it’s like MOST of what’s out there anymore.
THIS Guy Sums It All Up In A Good Read.
So, there it is, one of Palin’s new wardrobe pieces in her makeover. Columnist. How long will it take for her to utterly fail at this, ya think? And how will she screw it up?

It would be interesting to know who her ghost writer is.

I read somewhere that it’s likely her publicist . . . . ???? Journalistically, that article is not much better than Palin herself, though!!! I’d hire another publicist . . . . but it’s typical mistated, distorted and spun GOP memes. On THAT note, the article is picture perfect . . .
@ peanutbutter:
The problem with ghost writing is that somehow you have to make it appear it is the work of the person with the byline. That means a really bad writer or a good writer who can adopt Palin’s style. Either way, would you want you name attached?
Huff Po has found the first draft of Palin’s paper.

“It’s probably a bit kind to say that Sarah Palin “wrote” this. There are no words in all capital letters. There are no sports metaphors. There is nothing at all like “*((Gotta put First Things First))*.” The stylistic and grammatical tics on display in last week’s speech are totally absent. Sarah Palin signed her name to this. Or at least let someone else do so.
But that’s not all that’s missing. The term “global warming” is absent. So is “climate change.” It’s a bit like an op-ed that attacks firefighters for pointing pressurized water cannons at everything but never mentions fires, or a column that condemns surgeons for sticking sharp things into people but never mentions illness.”
Which led to Justin Fox taking up the challenge:
Sarah Palin takes on the water-cannon threat.
… later, bumz
Anyone else watching the senate? Lindsey Graham is pissing me off.

I can’t stand to listen to those whiny southern accents. I caught Sessions in a TPM video and threw up a little in my mouth.
Durbin is up now, but I think I will go swim. This stuff makes my head hurt.
Judge Sotomayor will be confirmed.
The hearings are kabuki.
Why bother watching?
Predicting her future SCOTUS rulings is impossible, beyond knowing she will uphold present and existent law.
Except when it’s proven to be bad law, maybe.
Confirm her, get it over, and can we PLEASE get back to domestic issues like HC and Finan Reform, and prosecution of Bush Admin Crimes.
Thank you for your time.
Harumph . .

I watched a part of Durbin, death penalty.
Again, kabuki to rebut the idjit who preceded him.
And Durbin was painful to watch, also.
Swimming is better TB, yer all over it.
I’m goin to the gym.
And there’s an All Star Game on tonight!!!
Those of you who can, should grill up some hard wood cooked burgers, dogs, steaks, veggies.
For us at Chez Larue, it’s more rabbit food for tonight, with some pan toasted and seasoned garbonzo’s to imitate steak protein and cals . . .
Oh hey. I’ve discovered pearl couscous. YUM. Along with sauteed mushrooms, onions, whatever herbs I find, tofu, whatever veggies I’ve got going (banana pepper)…. yum yum…
@ larue:
Whatcha gonna use to make complete protein with the garbanzos? Beans by themselves aren’t protein, they need rice or corn to have the amino acids your body needs. Otherwise they are just carbs. Good carbs, but not protein.

Ezra Klein’s first glance at the now published House health-care bill.
Public plan starts with Medicare rates! YES! Health Insurance Exchange is national! YES!
This is a huge step forward. And anyone who would opppose it in the hopes of getting something better needs to remember that it could be another 35 years before they get another chance.

Somebody better sandbag Kucinich, then…
But very good news indeed…

Hmm, not sure I really understand what it all means for those who can’t afford to pay insurance.
I understand the poverty level thing . . . and 400% above is the $42K number. But what does that individual have to PAY for healthcare coverage? 1% of his wage at max? So, that would be $420? Monthly? Cuz that would KILL me on a monthly basis! Or is my annual premium now a total of $420? THAT would be less, FAR less, than I paid in my LAST job as my share of coverage.
Again, I want to see more info and details about WHAT it’s gonna cost people who don’t have coverage but now HAVE to have coverage? Or DO they have to have coverage? The uninsured who don’t have coverage and can’t afford it, what, do they get sued and pay for life?
Will the new plan(s) keep people in their homes if they get sick and can’t pay?
How will this compete with private insurance? It’s still INSURANCE! Not care!
Lots of questions . . . time will tell . . . thanks for posting it, Gordon, I was out and just got back in.
Hope all is well down on the farm . .

Seen the calorie count?
I LOVE that stuff, and put curry’s and all kinds of seasonings (chicken stock) in it, but it’s as bad as rice, cal wise!!!
So, half a cup max twice a week, max, for us . . . :sigh:
